When is the Pile of Bones Underground Film Festival?

Saturday, September 29th, 2018, at the Artesian Performance Venue in
  Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

How many films does Pile of Bones screen?

The festival program is one-night only and we screen around 16 films. The
screening is a delicious mix of varying genres, but because of the duration
of the event we only accept films that are less than 30 minutes in length.

Does the festival offer awards and prizes?

Pile of Bones is a non-competitive festival. We do, however, pay screening
fees based on IMAA fee schedules and also offer the insanely coveted
“Top of the Pile” award presented to the audience's favourite film!

Is the festival open to films from outside Canada?

Yes! We have been an international festival since 2017. International films
may be submitted through the International Shorts category on FilmFreeway.
(Canadian films must be submitted through the Short Films category.)

How do you classify "Canadian" film?

Either the filmmaker is a Canadian resident, or the film was shot in
  Canada by Canadians. Preferably both.

Will Pile of Bones screen my film if it has screened in other festivals?

Of course! (But we ask films not be publicly screened before in Regina.)

Can you waive the entry fee?

We compensate filmmakers for their works, and as a non-profit festival we
rely on submission fees to help offset festival costs.

Why is the film festival called Pile of Bones?

Because you'll die from excitement watching all the great movies!

...But seriously, Regina was once called "Pile of Bones" because the city
started as a massive pile of rotting buffalo skeletons.

  Are you fucking serious?
